Footie Predict's first tournament

We opened it to six friends in May. Then we spent five days telling anyone who would listen, and 126 more people signed up before a ball was kicked. Here is what those few weeks actually looked like.

Between 7 and 11 June the curve went vertical: 126 people in five days.

A hundred of them were in before the first whistle, which was the only deadline that mattered.

The deadline did the work

5,706 is only the group stage. Add the knockout picks and the tournament took just over 9,000 calls in all.

Group predictions lock the moment the first match starts, so 2,232 of them landed on kick-off day itself. Nearly four in ten, at the buzzer.

The group chat was the product

Six in ten played in a league with friends or family. A game that built mini communities.

83 of the 141 joined a league with people they already knew. The biggest crew was fourteen.

Jungle Draft is still early. The first cohort is drafting now, and their numbers will show up here once they have played a season.
